The Wash process
Each detail starts with a gentle wash. The vehicle is first rinsed, and then pre-soaked with a citrus-based paint cleanser to remove all loose dirt and contaminants. The goal is to get the paint as clean as possible before using any mechanical washing methods, this prevents inducing scratches or swirl marks. Followed by another rinse at low pressure, the car is then hand washed using the finest lambs wool mitts and a mild pH balanced shampoo. The car is rinsed off once more, this time with De-ionized water to ensure no hard water spots are left on the paint. Lastly the finish patted dry with 2 deep pile microfiber towels that will not induce even the finest of scratches or swirl marks.
Wheels and tires
First the wheels are rinsed at high pressure to remove all dirt and brake dust from the surface. Next a pH balanced, non-acidic wheel gel is sprayed liberally to the face and inner part of the wheels to remove all remaining baked in brake dust with selection of soft brushes. The tires and wheel wells are degreased and deep cleaned as well using an assortment of non-harsh cleaners and brushes. The wheels are later dressed with a grease free waterproof dressing which will last for several weeks.
Clay bar treatment
"Claying" is a method used to further decontaminate and cleanse the paint. The putty like clay bar will non-aggressively remove embedded contamination such as tree sap, overspray, road grime and tar. Often times you cannot see the contaminants that the clay bar picks up, but you will be amazed at the dramatic difference it makes to the paint surface. After claying your paint will feel silky smooth and leveled, this allows for the later application of the protective sealant to bond extremely well. Many detailers often overlook the claying process but it has proven to be one of the most critical steps in detailing when striving for that perfect finish.
Interior detail services
Street Dreams interior detailing services are held to the same standard as our exterior and paint finishing services. Every inch of the cabin is treated w ith the utmost care. Leather is gently cleaned and conditioned while replenishing the natural oils and restoring that natural leather smell. Carpets are shampooed, vacuumed and lightly extracted to remove stains. All plastic and vinyl dash trim is cleaned and coated with a UV protectant dressing which leaves a stain finish. Your interior will have a spotless yet natural look, opposed to that common greasy and high shine look.
Paint Inspection and Machine polishing (optional service)
If you choose one of the paint correction services, your paint finish will be enhanced to its peak potential. First the finish is inspected under several types of halogen, fluorescent and LED lights to determine the damage. Next using an electronic PTG (paint thickness gauge) readings are taken of how much paint your car has on each panel. These readings help determine what level of paint correction is needed and that your cars paint is thick enough to properly machine polish without causing damage.
Followed by the thorough inspection comes the extensive paint correction process. Using both high speed and random orbital machine buffers, the paint is compounded, polished and jeweled to a swirl free, high gloss finish. Paint correction will provide the most dramatic difference in your cars finish over any other step in the detailing process. The best way to achieve a deep, wet and crystal clear finish is with machine pol ishing. I believe in true paint correction, I never mask or hide defects with a filler based glaze or wax like many detailers are known to do.
Protecting your investment
Once the paint has been thoroughly washed, decontaminated and polished it is time to apply the protection. The application of wax or sealant is custom suited to match the needs of the car or owners personal desires. All waxes or sealants used do not contain heavy silicone oils or glaze fillers meaning they will not smear in sunlight or wash away quickly. Since the wax or sealant is applied in multiple layers and by machine polisher, durability is expected to last a minimum of 4months, that ensures the finish is protected from UV rays, hard water spots and etching.
